Great Football United (GFU) was founded in early 2013 by Mr. Sandor Nagy to create an international football community in Qingdao. GFU aims to develop the FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) as a grassroots initiative in Qingdao. The main objective of the FIFA Grassroots Football Program is to allow football to be discovered by as many people as possible. The best way to attract new players to the sport is to give them access to football in their own environment whatever their age, sex, physical condition, skin color, religion or ethnic origin. The key concept of the program is to bring together as many people as possible through football. The Grassroots Program advocates for exchanges, sharing human values and, of course, promoting an appreciation for the joy and pleasure that accompany practicing the sport of football. Based on the Grassroots Football Program, GFU is developing its football academy in order to find and educate talented students who wish either to be professional footballers or to study abroad through GFU’s Career Program. |
GFU aims to create a culture where players feel safe and secure to express their creativity and love for the game as well as become a club that uses its culture for sustainability, longevity and growth. At GFU, all stakeholders buy into the club’s philosophy and culture, actively working to fulfill the club’s mission/vison and philosophy. More info on GFU's philosophy click here>> |

Street Soccer |
Street Football Program is about delivering opportunities in communities to play football freely. In our hectic world, especially in the cities, we have less and less space and opportunity to enjoy the Beautiful Game. GFU aims to bring back the pure enjoyment of playing football for kids by providing football fields and balls to play for free without any coach or parent pressures. GFU believes that street football is a natural education platform where older kids teach the younger ones not only technical skills but social skills and life values by playing freely without adults telling them what to do. GFU is looking for those volunteers who want to give opportunities to their community to enjoy football and organize the activity on weekly bases. Rural Schools Support |
Rural Schools Support is a program for Qingdao’s suburban schools. GFU, with cooperation of Qingdao Expat Charity, visits rural schools to hold soccer activities once per month to those disadvantaged students who would love to play soccer but are unable to due to their underprivileged situation. |
The Qingdao Expat Charity’s sole purpose is to give back to the Qingdao community by supporting disadvantaged children, supplement tuition, improve rural school conditions, and provide vital financial assistance for children in need of medical attention, specifically congenital heart disease. The children supported have suffered the loss of a parent or both parents and have little to no income. You can support the Qingdao Expat Charity by attending upcoming events, volunteering, or through donations. Please follow them at qdexpatcharity@yahoo.com or joining their wechat group at ‘Expat Charity Community Group’. With your help, the Qingdao Expat Charity can continue to make a difference in the lives of these children. |
